EZE Group star James Wade won his second title of 2015 at Players Championship 13 in Wigan on Saturday.
The world number six produced some fantastic performances before clinching the success with a brilliant fightback against Kim Huybrechts in the final.Eight-time major winner Wade eased past Steve Douglas and Dirk van Duijvenbode in the early stages of his run to glory, dropping only one leg in those two matches.
He then saw off Dave Ladley, Vincent van der Voort and Ian White to reach the semi-finals.There, he defeated World Youth Champion Keegan Brown 6-1 to set up a decider with fellow Premier League player Huybrechts.
Victory from the jaws of defeat
‘The Machine’ fell 5-3 behind in the final but won three straight legs to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Wade’s form is encouraging ahead of the upcoming World Matchplay, which he won in 2007.
The draw for the prestigious tournament, which takes place at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens in a fortnight, was made on Monday – with Wade being pitted against Australia’s Kyle Anderson while his fellow EZE Group ambassadors Simon Whitlock and Robert Thornton were drawn against Jelle Klaasen and Keegan Brown respectively.
